First Post in 17 Months

Send to Kindle

It’s been an incredibly eventful 17 months. I’ve had a ton to say, and in some respects the time to say it, but it’s been a little overwhelming to consider how much there was to say and how much time it would take to say it.

So, in typical fashion of a procrastinator, it became easier to simply not say anything (even though, the need to say it kept growing exponentially).

I say need because I have truly internalized that many people claim that writing is truly thinking and that one should do a lot of writing even if there is no audience (and for all intents and purposes, I have no audience, and I’m fine with that).

There are two main thrusts that have made the past 17 months eventful, health and technology. So much to write about each. Instead of my typical novel-length posts on each, I’m going to do a longer series on the health stuff (at least), whereas some of the tech posts will still be too long for comfort.

The most recent tech change is connecting this blog to the Fediverse using the WordPress plugin ActivityPub. It was a crazy odyssey to get that to work (I’ll eventually get to a post about that) but this morning, the connection went live (hence this first post, finally).

If you want to follow this blog from any Fediverse client (e.g., Mastodon), the address is: @blog@opticality.com (you need to copy/paste that address into your Mastodon client (or any other Fediverse client).

I have a separate personal Mastodon account (which I toot/boost from very infrequently, but that could change too): @hadarvc@social.opticality.com (same copy/paste instructions as above…)

Be forewarned, I’m hoping not to fall off the wagon again, so there might be quite the flurry of posts in the coming weeks…
