Matt Jacobus - Vice President, Technology
Mr. Jacobus has joined Opticality to work with portfolio
companies in their technology and business-strategy
implementations and to assist in the vetting of new
ventures.
Prior to Opticality, Matt had a 13-year career both as an
entrepreneur and corporate officer. He was a partner in the
creation of two software companies, Objective Technologies
and JF Technology. He served as Vice President in Equities
at UBS where he had primary responsibility for the
department's global risk system. He managed teams of
software developers, designing and implementing complex
distributed software systems for the desktop and Internet
focusing on object oriented design, software reuse,
programming, and debugging.
Most recently, Matt was the Director of Technology for a
startup software company, JF Technology, specializing in
internet-based risk management systems for online brokers
and dealers. He was instrumental in designing the feature
set as well as architecting, implementing and deploying the
system.
Matt was previously a partner in a startup software company,
Objective Technologies, Inc. where he was responsible for
the company's commercially available software including
three end user applications and four software development
tools. He managed product selection, project management,
resource allocation, design, implementation, and product
launch. Matt also has had programming experience working
with Dun and Bradstreet, and as a technical writer for
A.C. Nielsen.
Matt was educated at Carnegie Mellon University where he
received a degree in Math and Computer Science.
