UTS Capability Adds to Application Integration Framework Portfolio of Leading J2EE Programmatic Integration Solutions
MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 2003--Red
Oak Software, Inc. (www.redoaksw.com)
announces the general availability of Unisys Integrator(TM),
the industry's most advanced Java programmatic solution for
Unisys legacy systems application integration. Designed
specifically to enable production host applications to be
programmatically automated, Unisys Integrator can be the
crucial element in any integration project where Unisys
applications are an important component.
Consisting of a high-level abstracted API, Runtime
Environment and adapters, Unisys Integrator is written
entirely in Java and has been specifically designed for
server-based implementation. The resulting solutions take
full advantage of the benefits of server-based applications
(centralized access and management, etc.) and enable
seamless connectivity and non-invasive integration with all
Unisys UTS legacy application systems.
The power of this unique technology is its innovative
approach and the resource leverage it provides for
integrating UTS-based applications. Unisys Integrator
incorporates a straightforward, high-level API, which can
easily automate the steps necessary for bi-directional
communication with the host system. Access to all program
logic and data is provided, regardless of where that
essential data resides - without requiring any changes to
the underlying application. The Runtime Environment has been
designed for fast, highly efficient and scaleable execution
of those critical Unisys transaction integrations that
require superior performance.
An important feature is its implementation flexibility,
as any number of application functions, from the same or
different Unisys systems, can be combined within the same
solution, dramatically increasing the value and power of the
integration.
Unisys Integrator can also easily integrate any UTS
legacy application in an enterprise with any of the major
application servers or EAI systems. Transparent programmatic
access is provided to both the logic and data of any
production application by communicating via the messaging
event protocol of each respective system. Or, solutions can
be implemented in standalone server mode. Standard adapters
execute concurrently with the Unisys Integrator Runtime
Environment, binding Unisys Integrator and the application
server or EAI system together into a seamless integration
environment.
The Unisys Integrator suite consists of the following
components:
API and Runtime Environment
- Fully extensible Java code
- Server-based
implementation
- Efficient, highly scaleable program
execution
- Built-in Java terminal emulator for Unisys UTS
EAI - Application Server Connectivity
- Connectivity to all major messaging systems
adapters
- Server-based implementation
Unisys Integrator(TM) Development Server bundles start at
$15,000. Production Server bundles start at $25,000. All
components are available immediately.
Each of Red Oak's Transaction Integration(TM) products
includes a Development Environment and Server Runtime
Environment that allows all 390, AS/400, Tandem, Digital,
Unix, Unisys and HTML-based application interactions to be
seamlessly integrated with any of the major EAI messaging
systems, from vendors such as webMethods, Vitria, IBM ,
SeeBeyond and TIBCO.
These Java products also provide customers with fast,
efficient programmatic connectivity to Application Server
solutions, from vendors such as IBM, BEA, Oracle and Sun,
and any of the major enterprise application systems,
including Siebel, Peoplesoft, SAP, and Oracle. This
functionality enables large corporations to capitalize on
their massive investment in legacy applications and extend
their reach to the Internet applications necessary for
eBusiness.
Red Oak is privately held. It was financed through
venture capital from Opticality Ventures of New York and
private investment. They specialize in Transaction
Integration, by which access to any application logic and
data is developed automatically into reusable business
objects, regardless of the programming language or database
structure of the legacy application. The company is
headquartered in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, with corporate
offices in Rochester. Additional information is available
