RESTON, Va. & MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Jan. 17, 2002--
Software AG's Tamino XML Server and Red Oak's Web Integrator Provide
Customers with Quick, Cost-Effective XML Solutions for Web Content
Software AG Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Software AG, and Red Oak
Software Inc. have formed an alliance offering customers automated,
programmatic access to data on any web browser via Web Integrator, and
easy integration and processing in Tamino.
Under this mutual referral agreement, Software AG and Red Oak will
each actively market a combined solution that provides customers
access to previously unobtainable, critical business data residing on
the proliferating number of web-based browser applications.
While many e-business applications are migrating to XML
open-standards, the implementation of an XML infrastructure is
sometimes challenging and time consuming. The benefit of the Software
AG - Red Oak alliance is that users can now very easily capture and
integrate any content offered on the Internet with Red Oak's Web
Integrator and then store and process data using Tamino. This provides
a quick, inexpensive XML enhancement to the enterprise's IT
environment.
Software AG's Tamino is a multi-award winning XML server that
stores structured and unstructured data natively. It can store and
process XML data without first converting it to another data format.
As a result, response times are faster and require lower
administrative efforts than with traditional databases.
Red Oak's Web Integrator(TM) product automatically creates Java
beans that programmatically access and retrieve any Internet content
and output the content as native XML. By combining the capabilities of
Web Integrator with Tamino, users now have access to previously
inaccessible User Interface (UI) content for easy integration into
Tamino databases.
``Together with Red Oak Software, we are adding value and
flexibility to Tamino users,'' said Lori Williams-Peters, Software AG,
Inc.'s Vice President of Sales. ``This alliance will enable Tamino
users to integrate web content into an open standards environment via
Web Integrator. It reflects our commitment to enhancing Software AG's
core products to meet our customers' evolving e-business needs.''
``Any content that is accessible via a browser-based application,
either from an intranet or the Internet, can now be imported to Tamino
using Web Integrator,'' according to Red Oak Vice President - Product
Strategy, Ken Dugan. ``The Web Integrator / Tamino solution is unique
to the marketplace, fulfilling an important requirement of enterprise
IT managers and we are delighted to be combining forces with Software
AG to offer this exciting solution.''
